India Women thrashed England by 270 runs at Lord’s, their fourth-largest Test win by runs and a landmark moment at cricket’s most iconic venue. This victory marks India’s fourth Test triumph at Lord’s, joining the men’s team’s wins in 1986, 2014, and 2021.

Historic Team and Individual Records

India’s total of 626 runs across both innings (285 and 341/7d) ranks as their second-highest match aggregate in women’s Tests, only behind the 640 they piled up against South Africa in Chennai in 2022. It was also just the second time India Women surpassed 300 in their second innings, following their 344/8 against England in Bristol in 2021.

Kranti Gaud and Yastika Bhatia Shine

Kranti Gaud’s 5/37 was only the fifth five-wicket haul by an Indian seamer in women’s Tests, and her match figures of 7/91 rank third-best for an India seamer, behind Jhulan Goswami’s 10/78 and Shashi Gupta’s 8/100.

Yastika Bhatia etched her name in the history books with a brilliant 113, becoming the first Indian batter to score a hundred in the third or fourth innings of a women’s Test. She also joined Anju Jain as only the second Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century.

Smriti Mandhana’s Milestone Match

This was Smriti Mandhana’s 300th international game, making her the youngest women’s cricketer to reach the milestone at just 29 years and 358 days old. With 788 Test runs, she’s now second only to Sandhya Agarwal (1110) for India Women. Mandhana’s 83 and 70 in the Test also made her the fourth Indian to score 50-plus in both innings of a women’s Test.

Her 10,737 runs across formats place her third all-time for India Women, just 31 runs behind Suzie Bates and 131 behind Mithali Raj’s record.

England’s Standout Performances

Sophie Ecclestone starred with the ball, her 5/118 marking her fourth five-wicket haul in Tests. She also chipped in with the bat, becoming only the second player to score a 50-plus at No. 8 or lower in the fourth innings of a women’s Test.

Amy Jones was England’s lone bright spot with the bat, scoring 52 and 54 to become the first designated wicketkeeper with 50-plus scores in both innings of a women’s Test. The match also saw wicketkeepers aggregate 231 runs, the highest in a women’s Test.
