A seven-year-old girl was gangraped and killed in Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar Extension after being lured with a cold drink and chips, police said. Two suspects, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the case.

The victim went missing around 7 pm on Friday, prompting a search by family and residents. Her body was found in the basement of an under-construction mall at around 1 am. The condition of the body, described as distressing by relatives, sparked widespread anger.
Senior police and forensic teams inspected the crime scene and collected evidence. Authorities cordoned off the area and registered a case based on the family’s complaint. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations to establish the sequence of events.
Accused Confess to Crime
Police identified one suspect as Shahabuddin; the other is a minor. During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted to luring the girl with snacks, assaulting her inside the mall, and throwing her off the roof to conceal the crime. Nandgram police are pursuing legal action against both.
