A bridge in Maharashtra’s Beed district, built at a cost of nearly Rs 48 lakh, is under scrutiny after a viral video showed its railing collapsing with a light push. The incident, recorded in Bankaranja village, has raised concerns over construction quality and the use of materials.

Viral video sparks quality concerns

Local resident Durgadas Lamb was seen pushing the bridge railing with his foot in the clip, after which the structure gave way. Villagers have alleged the use of substandard materials and demanded a thorough investigation into the project.

Calls for probe into construction

Lamb has urged the Beed District Collector to conduct an impartial probe and take strict action against the contractor and supervising officials. The bridge falls under the assembly constituency of BJP MLA Namita Mundada.

Questions have been raised over how such poor construction quality could go unnoticed despite the project’s Rs 48 lakh expenditure. The administration has not yet issued an official response to the allegations.
