Electrocution in waterlogged Ghaziabad area

Bystander videos, including CCTV footage, show the man walking out of the park before collapsing. Residents believe electricity leaked into the water, preventing immediate rescue. The power supply was later disconnected, allowing locals to pull him out and rush him to LYF Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Police investigation underway

Authorities received information via the 112 emergency service after the victim was taken to the hospital. Officers from Abhay Khand police outpost confirmed the death appeared prima facie to be caused by electrocution. The victim’s family has demanded prompt action.

Police are investigating potential negligence in electrical infrastructure maintenance or public safety measures during the rains. Further legal proceedings will determine the exact circumstances.
