BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday challenged Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to dissolve the Assembly and face fresh elections, citing an alleged internal survey that projects 78 seats for the BRS in the state.
The BRS leader accused the Congress government of losing public confidence and demanded immediate bypolls for vacated seats or local body elections to test its mandate. He claimed the survey, reportedly conducted by the Chief Minister’s camp, reflects growing dissatisfaction with the ruling party.
BRS leader criticizes Congress on irrigation and governance
KTR also targeted the state government over its handling of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, alleging failure to utilize Godavari waters effectively. He claimed reservoirs in the Godavari basin could be filled without relying on the Medigadda barrage and accused the administration of allowing excess water to flow downstream despite drought concerns.
The BRS leader demanded the immediate operation of pump houses to secure irrigation supplies for farmers. He warned of a statewide agitation if corrective measures were not taken.
Defense of Harish Rao and political attacks
Responding to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks against senior BRS leader T Harish Rao, KTR described Harish Rao as a disciplined and committed leader who has been with the party since its inception. He accused the Chief Minister of resorting to personal attacks instead of addressing governance issues raised by the opposition.
