Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district have arrested a woman and her lover for allegedly murdering her husband, whose body was exhumed three months after his disappearance. The victim, Vipin Kumar Yadav, was reported missing on March 26.

Conspiracy and disposal of the body

Aanchal Yadav, the victim’s wife, and Sunil Kushwaha were allegedly in a relationship before her marriage. Authorities state the pair conspired to kill Vipin Kumar Yadav to continue their affair. Kushwaha, along with an associate, Sandeep Bahroliya, lured the victim under the pretext of an outing before murdering him.

The body was initially disposed of in a well but later retrieved and buried elsewhere as the investigation progressed. Police recovered skeletal remains from the burial site following an excavation conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.

Arrests and legal proceedings

Aanchal Yadav and Sunil Kushwaha have been arrested under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Both were produced in court and remanded to judicial custody. The investigation remains ongoing.

Rewa Headquarters DSP Himali Pathak confirmed the missing person complaint was filed by Vipin Yadav’s father. Police later traced the suspect, Kushwaha, through another case before taking him into custody for questioning. Initial misdirection by the accused delayed the recovery of the body.
