The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a nationwide signature campaign demanding the death penalty for those accused in the Ram Temple donation theft case. The initiative, announced on Sunday, began with a Sundarkand recital and Lord Hanuman’s aarti in Delhi.

Kejriwal Leads Campaign Against Temple Theft

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal signed a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging strict action against the accused. The letter, also signed by devotees, follows allegations of large-scale irregularities in the temple’s administration. Kejriwal claimed CCTV footage captured multiple thefts and accused influential figures of being shielded.

Before the campaign launch, Kejriwal and his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, recited the Hanuman Chalisa. He called on supporters to organize similar events and collect signatures in support of the demand for capital punishment.

AAP Letter Highlights Trust Allegations

In the letter to Modi, AAP stated that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, whose members were appointed by the Prime Minister, has faced prior allegations of land scams and commission demands. The party described the theft of temple offerings as a betrayal of Hindu devotees’ faith.

The campaign has received backing from senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who emphasized the need for harsh punishment for those involved in the alleged theft. The party has urged nationwide participation in the signature drive.
