A powerful explosion ripped through a ferroalloy and pig iron factory in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on Tuesday, killing three workers and triggering a fire that was quickly brought under control by emergency responders.
Factory Explosion Details
The blast occurred at a 3D factory in the Bendri area under the Urla police station limits, according to officials. Two workers died on the spot, while a third succumbed to injuries during transportation to a hospital. The deceased were identified as Arun Pandey from Janjgir-Champa district in Chhattisgarh, and Komal Singh and Lal Singh from Dindori district in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh.
The factory, which manufactures ferroalloys and pig iron, was immediately secured by authorities, who launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the explosion. Preliminary reports suggest that an oxygen cylinder explosion may have triggered the blast, although officials have not confirmed the cause.
