Background of the Disproportionate Assets Case

Lalit Kumar, a former transport official posted in Agra, was previously booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act after a vigilance inquiry revealed assets disproportionate to his known income. The Lucknow Sector of the UP Vigilance Establishment is investigating the case on the state government’s directives.

All seized assets are being verified as part of the ongoing probe, with further legal action expected. The agency has also announced a Rs 1 lakh reward for the Lucknow Sector team that executed the raids. Updates on the investigation are awaited as authorities continue to assess the recovered documents and valuables.
