The ICC has extended the suspensions of USA Cricket (USAC) and Cricket Canada (CC) while granting Associate membership to the Mauritius Cricket Federation (MCF). The decisions came during the ICC’s Annual Conference in Edinburgh, wrapping up on July 11.

USA and Canada Remain Sidelined

Both USAC and CC stay suspended—USAC since September 2025, CC since June. The ICC acknowledged the urgency of restoring USAC’s status, especially with the LA28 Olympics looming, but deferred a final call. Meanwhile, Cricket Canada must resolve internal issues, with details still under wraps.

Rumors swirl about Major League Cricket (MLC) potentially adding a Canadian team, but the ICC is watching how that plays out before acting.

Mauritius Joins the ICC Family

Mauritius’ entry as an Associate member pushes the ICC’s total to 111: 12 Full Members and 99 Associates. The move was first reported by Cricbuzz on July 4.

No Immediate Changes to WTC or ODI Format

No decision was made on expanding the World Test Championship to 12 teams or reducing ODIs to 40 overs. The ICC did, however, discuss future strategies and restructuring proposals, with JioStar presenting as the official media partner.

The conference ran from July 8 to July 11, leaving fans waiting for the next big update.
