A boy in Haryana’s Sonipat was allegedly tortured with electric shocks and beaten by two men after being accused of stealing a motorcycle battery, with a viral video of the assault sparking widespread outrage.

The footage shows the child screaming in pain, pleading “Bachao, bachao” (save me) and “Mummy ko bulaunga” (I will call my mother) as the men—identified as a shopkeeper and his son—detain him, twist his limbs, and administer shocks using a capacitor.

The boy’s family claims he was subjected to the assault despite no evidence of theft. His mother stated she filed a complaint, prompting police to launch an investigation.
