The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has endorsed the ongoing SIT probe into alleged irregularities in counting donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, urging the temple trust to prevent future lapses that could erode devotee trust. The stance was announced after the Sangh’s three-day national meet in Belagavi, attended by top leaders including Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale.

RSS Addresses Ram Mandir Donation Row

RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar stated that attendees expressed grief over the irregularities and confidence in the SIT and police action initiated by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Nyas. He added that the trust must ensure such incidents do not recur, as they risk undermining the faith of Ram devotees.

Population Imbalance and Census Discussions

Beyond the Ayodhya issue, the RSS highlighted challenges from ‘population imbalance’ during its outreach and policy discussions. The meet also reviewed the Census process and demographic trends, though no further details were provided.

Organisational and Social Initiatives

The Sangh assessed progress on its centenary programs, including plans to engage new contacts through social work and its Panch Parivartan initiatives. Organizational expansion was a focus, with discussions on shakha-level action plans and the nationwide Shakha Vistar Yojana in September.

Training programs were also reviewed:

  • 83 Sangh Shiksha Vargas and 12 Karyakarta Vikas Vargas held since March
  • 18,842 swayamsevaks trained in organizational work, village development, and disaster management

The meet additionally identified drug abuse as a growing concern, calling for prioritized de-addiction efforts. Plans for Sant Ravidas Maharaj’s 650th birth anniversary and Mohan Bhagwat’s 2026-27 travel schedule were also discussed.
