TV Time, the beloved app for tracking TV shows and movies, is shutting down—but its original founder is stepping in with a replacement. Bingers, a new app from Antonio Pinto, aims to revive the best of TV Time while fixing its biggest flaws, like slow performance and high server costs.

Why Bingers could be the next home for TV Time users

With over 26.4 million lifetime installs, TV Time built a loyal community that discussed episodes in real time. Bingers promises to preserve that social experience while making the app faster and more sustainable. Pinto, who sold TV Time (then called TVShow Time) to Whip Media in 2016, says he was saddened by its shutdown—especially for the community he called his "other family."

Unlike TV Time, which struggled with high server costs (its premium subscriptions covered only 10% of expenses), Bingers is designed to keep costs low. That means quicker responses when users mark episodes as watched, even during peak usage. The app will also import TV Time data, including watch history and community comments, via a GDPR-compliant export tool before TV Time disappears from app stores on July 15.

How to join Bingers before its July 2026 launch

Bingers is set to launch on the App Store and Google Play by the end of July 2026. Until then, users can join a waitlist on the Bingers website to get notified when the app goes live. The data import tool is already available, so your TV Time history will be ready when the app debuts.

For fans left in the lurch by TV Time’s closure, Bingers offers a lifeline—one that’s built to last.
