The Delhi Police Special Cell has foiled a Pakistan-backed terror plot to carry out petrol bomb attacks on key locations in Delhi, including police establishments, the Anand Vihar Bus Terminal, and the railway station. Six suspects were arrested earlier this week from Delhi and Punjab.
Details of the Foiled Terror Plot
According to investigators, the accused were acting on the instructions of Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti and his associates linked to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Videos of the targeted locations, including the New Police Lines in Civil Lines and crowded markets, were recovered from the accused's mobile phones.
The footage was allegedly sent to Bhatti through a banned messaging application. Investigators have also retrieved chats between Bhatti and one of the arrested accused, Danish alias Chand Miyan, in which the handler allegedly instructed him to collect "material", prepare it, and wait for further directions.
Arrests and Recoveries
The Special Cell had earlier recovered three petrol bombs from the Vijay Ghat area near Rajghat, where Danish and his associate Salman were arrested before the alleged attack could be carried out. Police said Danish had been tasked with conducting reconnaissance and planning the attack in Delhi in return for ₹20,000.

The investigation has revealed that the accused were in contact with 10 other Pakistan-based operatives working under Shahzad Bhatti. The Delhi Police are examining digital devices, financial transactions, and communication records to identify other members of the network and determine whether the modules were linked to additional terror or organised crime activities.
